Tuesday, March 11, 2008, saw a battle of political titans in the Gatliff Chapel at University of the Cumberlands. Dr. Bruce Hicks and Dr. Christopher Leskiw, members of the University of the Cumberlands History and Political Science Department, debated on the topic of Iraq and America’s role in that nation. Questions were fielded to the professors by the executive board of the Cumberlands chapter of College Republicans, as well as questions from the audience.

Among the topics discussed were: troop death rates and their decline, the origins of the war, current lack of support from our allies and from the United Nations, lack of a clear exit strategy and many others. Questions from the audience were engaging and their support was well appreciated. Also present were members of the Berea College Republicans.
